In The Kitchen Stitchin' Blog Hop ~ My Day from Life in the Scrapatch

Welcome to my post for the

I like to have a tea towel handy by my sink to dry my hands.
These cute tea towels are perfect for the task
and add a splash of color to my kitchen

Another place I like to have a handy towel is my stove.
The fold-over handles on these towels make them easy to hang
anywhere I need a quick cloth to wipe my hands.

I made these pretty additions for my kitchen
with the following free pattern:

I did ...

Here is My Showing My Stripes Quilt!
My quilt measures 64" square to the outside curves
of my scalloped binding.
The blocks, which are my version of the traditional Grandmother's Fan Block,
measure 12.5" unfinished.

When I joined the

I already pulled the small fat quarter bundle from my stash for another project
and realized the stripe fabric was perfect for a quilt that features stripes.

I love this quilt and have enjoyed every part of the making ...

My 2021 Stitching Resolution ~ To Stitch and Show from Life in the Scrapatch

My stitching resolution for 2021 is to

 Stitch and Show.

Two years ago I updated my blog every day.

I was surprised to find I could come up with something to share every day.

In 2020, while I was sheltering and sewing in place, I sometimes left my computer turned off.

Therefore, I only posted bits and pieces of my sewing and stitching

and sometimes never showed the finish.

I resolve in 2021 to try to "stitch and show" everyday.

It may not be much, but I will do my best.

Please visit all my resolute blogging friends today,

Wednesday ...

Hello Fall Blog Hop ~ My Day! from Life in the Scrapatch

Hello, Fall ~ Welcome to my Scrapatch!

I have two new pillow covers to show you today
that I made from fabrics from my stash.

Quilty Kitty Katniss has approved this project.
Here are the four pieces I sewed to make these two sided pillow covers.

I found these fabrics a year or so ago at one of my favorite online shops,

The little deer leaping through the sunset trees is still available,
as are the textured yellow, green and terra cotta orange fabrics.

The focus print is not, but if you want info on the fabric,
contact Bernie ...

Stitching Sunshine Blog Hop ~ My Day from Life in the Scrapatch

Hello, Sunshine Stitching Friends... :)
I love yellow flowers like sunflowers and dahlias.

When I saw the theme for this blog hop I was very happy.

I dug these blocks out of my UFO hanger and made plans ...

Alas, it is closer to being a quilt, but still a UFO.

This is why I have not been blogging the past few days.

This is a non-quilting related mishap that almost required stitches of its own.

It is healing and I will be back soon.

I am sorry I do not have a finished project to show ...

Winter Blues Blog Hop ~ Stitching Joy from Life in the Scrapatch

My 1st Sashiko Stitches

In my little corner of the world "winter blues" is a malady,
a blah feeling that comes each winter and can take root
indoors during long cold winter nights.
Occasionally it is tempered by days such as these
when the sun shines bright on new fallen snow.

My favorite way to meet and beat the blue days of winter,
when it is so cold even the air feels tinted icy blue,
is to learn something new.
Sew I did ... :-)

This simple stitching project is my choice  for the
